LOGGI provides a more immediate and sustainable alternative to traditional wood biomass energy. Made from 100% recycled grape seeds, LOGGIs eliminate the carbon cost associated with wood harvesting and deforestation, offering an eco-friendly solution that contributes to a greener, low-carbon future.

While wood burning is often considered carbon neutral, this is based on the assumption that CO2 emissions from combustion are reabsorbed by growing trees in sustainably managed forests. However, a French Study and Finnish Study show that the time lag between emissions and sequestration, along with the impact of tree harvesting on growth and soil carbon stocks, can increase the global warming effect of wood burning. Additionally, forest management can alter albedo (the reflectivity of Earth's surface), with conflicting climate impacts.

In the 2018 French Study, a forest growth and harvest simulator was developed for French forests using recent forest inventory data, and then projected wood production, bioenergy production, and carbon balance for various scenarios. The study concluded that, no single solution was found to improve the carbon balance of the forestry sector by 2040 in a way that also met energy targets. In the two most intensified scenarios projected, each unit of energy produced has a carbon cost that only turns into a benefit between 2060 and 2080.
